Let's start where most homes start...
The front door.
Left: The front door and the cabinets that house the house shoes & our other shoes.
Right: What you see across from the front door when you walk in.
I'd eventually like to get a very narrow table to go there (we need extra storage.)
When you come in you go left down this hallway. At the end is the kitchen.
First door on the left is the toilet room. After that, on the left is the very steep staircase.
The first door on the right leads to the living room.
Through the living room sliding door is our tiny Ikea kitchen table which is in the galley kitchen area.
The kitchen also houses our apartment sized washer and dryer... all in Kanji (Japanese characters)
In the kitchen are two enclosed shelves that we bought from Ikea. We needed somewhere to store our dishes, cups, tupperware and the other is our pantry.
Our stove is a small 3 burner stove. We don't have an oven... we have a small fish oven thingy. This is typical in Japanese homes.
This little guy is unusual in a Japanese home. It's our teeny tiny dishwasher!!
Another feature that sold me on the house.
At the end of our galley kitchen houses our washer and dry.
And yes, it is all in Kanji.
Across from the living room door is our sink & shower room.
The shower room is a bit dated, but it is spacious.
Now, up the stairs.
At the top of the stairs to the second floor you can see into Noah's room.
You can also see the stairs to the 3rd floor to the right of Noah's room.
At the end of the hallway to the far left is the master bedroom.
It spans the width of the house
The master bedroom also has 2 closets
(this really helped seal the deal for me)

Next to the master bedroom is Noah's room
(He was a little upset)
Noah's closet, we had to buy the hanging rods.
To the right of Noah's room is the staircase to the third floor...
Then to the right of the staircase is our guest bedroom
(where you'll stay when you visit)
Across from the guest bedroom is an "office" that we use as a storage room for now. I didn't take a picture of it because it's small and not worth seeing.
At the end of the hall on the right is our upstairs bathroom.
A bathroom... is a bathroom.
At the opposite end from the master bedroom is a door that leads to our large 2nd floor deck.
Update: I almost forgot to mention, every room has a sliding glass door that leads to the large deck!

The biggest selling feature in this house.
The last part of the tour...
The third floor tiny loft & an odd door to our smaller 3rd floor deck.

There are so many floors it's hard to get a feel for the layout. But the rooms look nice and comfy!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's hard to get a feel for the layout. I'll try to draw out a layout of the house and post it! The third floor is just the tiny loft space that I think we'll use as the office and use the office on the second floor as a storage room since it has a door.
